Underpaid at Asda?
You could be owed years of back pay.
A tribunal has found 36 Asda store roles of equal value to depot roles.
Was your role hourly-paid, working in a store?
Asda paid the depot more than the shop floor. If the jobs were worth the same, you were underpaid.
Asda paid depot staff more an hour than store staff. Not already in a claim? You could be owed years of back pay.

Equal work. Different rate.
You were on your feet all shift. Cage to shelf, shelf to till, back down the aisle when someone needed finding. That stock came off a lorry from the depot. The person who loaded it got more an hour than you. Every shift, for years.
The law says if two jobs are worth the same, the pay should be the same. The jobs do not have to look alike. Men and women can both claim.
Asda publishes what it pays in store. You know your rate.
Asda does not publish the depot rate.
A tribunal says these jobs were worth the same as depot jobs, 2008 to 2014. Asda’s defence is heard in November. Nothing has been paid yet.
They put it on the pallet. You take it off. Same stock, different rate. If a tribunal agrees the roles are of equal value, that gap can become back pay. Nobody is asking to cut depot pay.
Did you do work like this at Asda?
If one of these was your job, check. These are examples. What you did matters more than the job title.
- Service Colleague
- Checkout Operative
- Shop Floor Assistant
- George Colleague
- Cash Office
- Section Leader Nights
- Night Colleague
- Chilled Colleague
- Kiosk
- and other in-store roles
Your side is the store: tills, shop floor, chilled, George, the kiosk and the petrol station. The other side is the depot. They got more an hour. If the jobs were worth the same, the pay should have been too.
Around 60,000 Asda colleagues already have a claim in, many through the GMB or Leigh Day. Already in one? Stay there. You cannot be in two. This route is for everyone who never joined.
How many hours are in your claim
The hours you worked on the shop floor are what a claim is calculated over. What any claim is worth is assessed by the tribunal, not here.
Back pay counts the last six years, so the estimate stops rising there.
Your answers suggest you may have a claim worth checking. Back pay, where a claim succeeds, is generally limited to the last 6 years. What any claim is worth depends on your individual circumstances and is assessed by the tribunal; no outcome is guaranteed.
| Hours a week | 32 |
| Weeks a year | 52 |
| Years the law counts | 5 |
| Back pay window | up to 6 years |

Left Asda? Here is how the time limit works.
While you are still employed there is no leaving date to work from. Back pay, where a claim succeeds, is generally limited to up to six years.
To claim, you must have worked at a store in England, Scotland or Wales within the last six years; whether your claim is brought in the Employment Tribunal or in court depends on when you left. Back pay, where a claim succeeds, is generally limited to up to six years. The check takes about a minute.

Backed by specialist solicitors
Your claim is handled by Harcus Parker
EvenPay is a claims management company. We check whether your situation looks like a claim and, if it does, refer you to Harcus Parker, solicitors authorised and regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. They run the claim. We do not.
You do not need paid representation to bring an equal pay claim. You can raise the issue directly with your employer, contact Acas for free early conciliation, or bring a claim to an employment tribunal yourself. A claim made through a claims management company or solicitor may not necessarily be resolved more quickly, or with a better prospect of success.
The cost, plainly
If your claim succeeds, Harcus Parker charges a fee of 24% + VAT of the money you recover — set out in full before you sign.
Checking commits you to nothing. If your claim proceeds, it runs on a fee that applies only if it succeeds, and you will see the exact terms in the funding agreement before you sign.
You pay EvenPay nothing. EvenPay is paid a referral fee by the solicitors.
How joining works
Check in 60 seconds
A few multiple-choice questions. Nothing is committed at this point.
Read and sign once
We send you the solicitors' funding agreement, with the fee in it. You read it and sign online. Your details reach the solicitors when you sign, not before.
The solicitors do the legal work
The solicitors run your claim and keep you updated. Equal pay cases are slow: the three above have been running between 8 and 12 years.
You could get back pay
If the claim succeeds, you could recover up to six years of back pay, less the fee. You pay nothing if it does not.
Every Asda shift counts.
Asda is already selected for you. Worked somewhere else too? Use the main check. Checking commits you to nothing. Your details reach the solicitors only when you sign their agreement.
Which supermarket did you work for?
Worked for more than one? Pick the one you worked at longest. You can tell the solicitors about the others.
Was your role hourly-paid, working in a store?
Hourly-paid work on the shop floor of a store. Which roles qualify differs by supermarket, and the solicitors confirm yours. Warehouse and depot roles are the comparison, not the claim.
Do you still work there?
If you have left, we need the month you finished. The solicitors work from that date.
When did you leave?
Where do you live now?
Back pay and time limits differ in Scotland, so this changes what applies to you.
Have you already signed up to this claim with Leigh Day, the GMB, Fair Pay UK, Harcus Parker or anyone else?
Signing up on any website counts, this one included. Nobody can be represented twice for the same claim. If you are already in one, stay with it.
Based on your answers you meet the criteria for this claim and you can carry on.
You could be owed around
Based on the figures you enter and a representative pay gap of about /hr, with back pay capped at 6 years. An illustration only, not a promise of compensation. Every claim depends on its own facts.
Harcus Parker Limited carries out its own checks before your claim starts.
